I've noticed that the achievement section of class-specific reference pages include images of the achievements, while the general/map-specific achievements do not. Additionally, the class references pages not only cover references to films, books, etc, but also covers general references, (such as the scout and spy's references to baseball and covert-op terminology, respectively), while the achievements on the main reference page only discuss those that refer to works of fiction.

Other Games Referencing TF2

Should there be a page to list references other games have to team fortress, or should they be added here? For example, one level of Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond is heavily team-fortress themed, including a wild west theme, the Meet The Spy announcer board, enemy engineers with sentry guns, and more. General References

I believe the bot name "CRITRAWKETS" is a reference to the webcomic Nerf Now, which features a recurring soldier with this name. Should it be added here or not? Kane.malakos 04:44, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Link us to the comics, and make sure it isn't the other way 'round ;) ~ lhavelund (talkcontrib) 04:45, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
[1] Here's the first appearance of the character (one of the soldiers that kills the pyro.) It's from February of 2008, so I think it predates the bots. I'm just not sure whether it's a reference to the comic or a coincidence. Kane.malakos 01:12, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

What needs fixing?

I'd like to work on cleaning up and expanding this article, but I'm unsure of what needs to be fixed and where expansion needs to take place. Could someone more experienced give me an idea of where to start? Colonelcool 19:39, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Refer to botnames

Considering bot names already have a section explaining their references, should we just link to that for bot name references? --Stevoisiak 00:23, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Now that bots can be named anything at all, should these refences be removed?MEDUNN 06:02, 19 July 2011 (PDT)
There's still a list of "default" names, isn't there? Balladofwindfishes 06:34, 19 July 2011 (PDT)
I suppose, it's just that these 'in game' bot names almost never appear in game (if they indeed they ever do. Just seems a bit daft to say here what the in game bots names reference, when those names basically never appear.MEDUNN 09:06, 19 July 2011 (PDT)
What names are used when you create a practice with bots server? Balladofwindfishes 09:48, 19 July 2011 (PDT)
No idea, never done itMEDUNN 10:06, 19 July 2011 (PDT)

Should this article be deleted?

As far as I can see, this article consists of remarks about a map (which has its own article, and could have this fact mentioned in the trivia section), bot names (which are listed in the "bots" article), promotional items (which don't really count in my opinion and have their own articles anyway), a remark about the game's art style (which isn't really a reference), a sound effect from the second trailer (which isn't exactly a reference either, more a point of trivia), references to TF2 in other games (which is a different subject alltogether), and exactly three remarks than fall into none of these categories. In my opinion, this article is pretty unnecessary and redundant. Zoon-li 03:31, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

You're right in many respects; most of the info here is already mentioned elsewhere, such as the Lumbricus Lid reference to Worms (which is on the Soldier references page). Maybe we should change it so that this page lists references which aren't covered elsewhere, like all-class hats and items? I'll maybe have a proper look at it once I'm done re-formatting the other reference pages. Cooper Kid (Blether)·(Contreebs) 23:44, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Myth?

Hello. I want to correct russian article, but i dont understand this sentense:

Quoted text.
— The Soldier and Demoman often reference Greek myth in their taunts of each other, especially concerning the Cyclops.

What are taunts? Сan give a more concrete? Cyclops? Norri 03:15, 15 September 2011 (PDT)

The taunts in question are when they shout insults at each other, usually after a domination. A cyclops is a mythological creature with one eye - it is often used to refer to the Demoman because of his visual impairment. » Cooper Kid (blether·contreebs) 05:12, 15 September 2011 (PDT)
Thanks for the explanation! Norri 06:12, 15 September 2011 (PDT)

Achievement references expanded into own section of page?

With the announcement of several Doomsday achievements with astronomy term-based names, I went to add some of them to the reference page, but noticed the Foundry achievements on the main reference page only discuss those that refer to works of fiction. This was odd, as the achievement section of class-specific reference pages not only cover references to films, books, etc, but also covers general references, (such as the scout and spy's references to baseball and covert-op terminology, respectively).

I'm proposing that these remaining Foundry achievements are added, and since adding the Doomsday ones as well will expand the "other" section considerably, I'm also proposing that these are moved to a new "achievement" section of the page, complete with the achievement images, not unlike the class reference pages.
