Le Wrangler est une arme débloquable pour l'ingénieur qui remplace le Pistolet. Il fait partie de la mise à jour de l'ingénieur et a été annoncé durant le deuxième jour.

Quand l'arme est sélectionnée, l'ingénieur peut prendre le contrôle de sa sentry et viser dans la direction qu'il désire, elle arrêtera de viser automatiquement. Quand l'ingénieur en prend le contrôle, un rayon laser est émis depuis la Sentry, servant à aider l'ingénieur à biser quand l'arme fait feu, mais aussi permettant à l'ennemi de vite savoir où la Sentry est située. Quand l'ingénieur change d'arme la Sentry est inactive pendant 3 secondes.

Le Wrangler donne aussi un bonus de bouclier absorbant 66% des dégâts, une puissance de feu doublé et une intervalle entre chaque roquettes lancé avec la Sentry niveau 3 diminué.

Le bouton de gauche de la souris tire les balles, tandis que le droit tire des roquettes.

Le Wrangler permet à un ingénieur malin d'accéder à des endroits élevés en faisant usage de Rockets Jumps de Sentry.

• The Wrangler, as with the Frontier Justice, the Gunslinger, and the Southern Hospitality, appears to have been designed by Radigan Conagher, the Engineer's ancestor. This is shown by a hidden link in the Engineer Update
• The main component of the Wrangler bears a striking resemblance to the control pad of the Atari 2600.
• Humorously, the Engineer's hand appears to get cramps after rotating the Wrangler's joystick for a period of time.
• At this time, the laser emitted from the Sentry while using the Wrangler will travel through some walls.
