Der WAR! Comic ist ein Comic, der vom 9. Dezember 2009 bis zum 15. Dezember 2009 während des WAR! Updates erschien. Im Comic erscheinen die Administratorin und Miss Pauling, welche versuchen, die Freundschaft zwischen dem RED Demoman und dem BLU Soldier zu beenden. Der "WAR! Comic" wurde von Mike Oeming erstellt.

Die Geschichte beginnt bei der Administratorin, die den Teams auf verschiedenen Karten beim Kämpfen zusieht, als ein RED Spy in die BLU-Basis eindringt (eine Anspielung auf den Meet the Spy-Kurzfilm). Dann bemerkt sie Miss Pauling, die nervös hinter ihr steht. Miss Pauling erklärt, dass sie während einer Routineüberprüfung des BLU Soldiers und des RED Demomans festgestellt hat, dass beide Freunde sind, seitdem sie sich auf einer Projektilausstellung kennengelernt haben. Die Administratorin ärgert sich und betrachtet das als Verrat ihres Vertrauens. Sie erkundigt sich nach den Aktivitäten der Freunde. Als Miss Pauling ihr sagt, dass sie manchmal reden, macht sich die Administratorin Sorgen, dass sie über ihre Arbeit reden und herausfinden könnten, dass sie beide für die gleiche Person arbeiten.
Die Administratorin entscheidet zu handeln. Sie befiehlt Miss Pauling, Saxton Hale anzurufen, damit er für die beiden Freunde besondere Waffen als Lockmittel herstellen soll. Der Comic springt zu Saxton Hale, der aus einem Flugzeug springen will. Der Pilot rät ihm davon ab, sie fliegen zu tief. Hale springt trotzdem und landet, nachdem er eine Glasscheibe durchbrochen hat, in seinem Büro, wo er von seinen Angestellten, Mr. Bidwell und Mr. Reddy empfangen wird. Hale diskutiert über geschäftliche Angelegenheiten. Mr. Reddy informiert ihn, dass TF Industries ihn am Telefon sprechen will. Er nimmt schnell das Telefon, da er denkt, es ist die Administratorin, welche er 'Helen' nennt. Die Frau am anderen Ende der Leitung ist jedoch Miss Pauling, die mit ihm über die Waffen sprechen möchte. Hale sagt, dass er ein bisschen belastendes Beweismaterial hat, bei dem er noch ein paar Fingerabdrücke verwenden könnte, und Miss Pauling stimmt zu.
Der Comic springt zu dem RED Demoman an seinem freien Tag. Er bereitet einen Tee für seine Mutter, welche ihn drängt, mehr als drei Arbeitsplätze zu bekommen. Während der Demoman sagt, dass er letztes Jahr 5.000.000 Dollar verdient hat, verspottet ihn seine Mutter dafür, dass er mehr ausgibt als spart. Sie werden von einem Klopfen an der Tür unterbochen. Der Demoman öffnet und wird von Miss Pauling begrüßt. Er fragt sie, warum sie bei ihm ist, sie antwortet, dass die Administratorin will, dass er seinen besten Freund tötet. Nachdem er mit einigen Waffen konfrontiert wurde, ist er sich immer noch unsicher. Miss Pauling lässt die Waffen bei ihm und sagt, dass der BLU Soldier von seinem Arbeitgeber dasselbe Angebot bekommen hat und es akzeptierte.
For the final chapter, the comic cuts to a messenger being sent to the BLU Soldier's apartment. After avoiding being shot twice by a Shotgun and having his neck snapped, the messenger is allowed inside. The Soldier then questions the man for his identity while pointing a Shotgun at him and taking cover behind an upturned table. The messenger then opens his trench coat to reveal a television screen strapped to his body. On the screen is the Administrator, who addresses the Soldier. She gives him two options: her associates drive him to the nearest Gravel Pit where they kill him for gross insubordination, or he kill the Demoman. He rejects both offers, threatening that if he is asked to kill his friend again he will stick his boot so far up the Administrator's ass it will be on the news. The Administrator questions the friendship and plays a video of an image of the Demoman with a robotic voice-over saying that the Soldier is a bad friend. The Soldier, while put off by this, again states he can't do it as the two have formed a bond. The video plays on, this time with the robotic voice stating that the Soldier isn't in fact a real Soldier, but a civilian. Being called a civilian enrages the Soldier, who then accepts the offer. The Administrator is pleased by this and announces that he will be receiving new weapons shortly.

- A TV screen on the left hand side of the page shows a dead BLU Scout at the top of the stairwell entrance to the Intelligence room at 2Fort. This is reference to the Meet the Spy video short, in which a RED Spy infiltrates the BLU base disguised as a Scout.
- Two screens down from that shows a BLU Soldier, Heavy, Spy (though only his shoulder can be seen) and Scout standing in the Intelligence room of the BLU base. This is a again a reference to the Meet the Spy. This shot however does not fit into the timeline, as the four would only arrive in the Intelligence room after the Administrator announces the Spy's presence on Page 2.

- The Administrator calling out "Alert! A RED Spy is in the base!" is also a reference to the intro of the Meet the Spy video. However, in the actual video the Administrator says "Intruder alert! RED Spy is in the base!". There is also a goof in regards to this, as the Administrator says to 'Attend to the briefcase!' shortly after. This does not happen in the comic because the Administrator is talking to Miss Pauling.
- There is a photo of the Zepheniah Mann and Company on the control panel.

- The pose the Demoman is standing in while crying at the Eye Museum is same pose he stands in on the Gunboats announcement page, but from the opposite side.

- The control panel the Administrator is sitting at loses several dial gauges from the top of the panel to the bottom. It should be noted however, that given the direction Missing Pauling is facing and the lack of chair obscuring the Administrator's back, that they are facing an entirely different control panel.

- The Demoman receives an additional 3 crates to the one the Eyelander came in, totaling 4. However, the Demoman only received 3 unlockables for the update, so it could be speculated the fourth crate could hold the Gunboats.

- The name on the Soldier's door is Jane Doe, a military term used for an unnamed deceased person. It should be noted though that Jane Doe refers to a female person, where as John Doe refers to a male.
