Initially, Team Fortress 2 launched with six maps (Dustbowl, Granary, Gravel Pit, Well, 2Fort, and Hydro) with three game modes (CP, CTF, TC). Currently, there are 39 official maps with seven different game modes (CP, CTF, TC, PL, ARENA, PLR, KOTH).
