尽管身为一个不怎么遵守医疗道德的日耳曼医生，医疗兵无疑地还是队上主要的 医疗 职业. 鉴于医疗兵并没有适合正面枪战的武装, 他只会出现在接近前线的地方医治受伤的队友，让自己不被战火波及. 当他的医疗枪对准队友发射时，可以让受伤的队友快速恢复生命值，更可以让满血的队友生命值暂时变多. 进行医疗时，医疗兵的 ÜberCharge 计量表会慢慢累积，在计量表满时医疗枪会发出滋滋声并带有闪电, 此时他便可以发动一次要命的冲锋攻击，让自己和一名队友暂时进入无敌状态、或是使他的治疗对象获得100%爆击的能力，两者作用时间皆长达八秒.

医疗兵是唯一能够随着时间经过自行恢复生命值的职业:医疗兵远离战斗越久,他的回血速度越快.一名刚受伤的医疗兵每秒可以回血3 HP,而在十秒内（只要没再受伤）回血速率会慢慢提升直到最大值每秒恢复6 HP.（但记住,配备吸血鬼针筒枪 会将回血率从每秒3~6 HP降至1~4 HP）.

Raised in Stuttgart, Germany during an era when the Hippocratic oath had been downgraded to an optional Hippocratic suggestion, the Medic considers healing a generally unintended side effect of satisfying his own morbid curiosity.

细枝末节

• The Medic was the first class of the 9 to receive his own class specific update. This update was prompted due to players feeling the Medic was underpowered and was therefore the least played class overall. After the Gold Rush/Medic Update was released, the amount of players playing Medic on a regular basis increased dramatically.
  • However since this update the Medic has become the least supported class, with only 5 Hats, 1 Misc item and a single weapon released since the initial update in 2008.
• The Medic has not received any new lines, either in-game or in the Meet the Team videos, since the game was released.
• According to one of the Demoman's domination lines, the Medic has a wife.
• Although he lived through the Second World War, and his bio hints at a dark past, Valve has stated that the Medic is not a former Nazi.
• The Medic is the only class with his own class-specific voice command (to alert teammates of a full ÜberCharge).
• Valve's tips on the loading screens stated that the Kritzkrieg's taunt heals 10 health. Community testing proved the Kritzkrieg heals 11 health.
