| obtain-text = This achievement can be obtained by using either the Buff Banner or Battalion's Backup. If using the Banner, it is recommended to use the default Rocket Launcher to build up your Rage meter, as the splash damage will make it significantly easier to fill. However, using the Backup can charge your meter very quickly since you only have to take 175 damage from enemies for a full charge, allowing you to use it several times in quick succession if you fight on the front lines with a Medic healing you. Whenever you have a full charge ready, notify your teammates via microphone and have them gather around you. If you can't organize them together, try to activate the buff when your team is pushing through an enclosed area, such as the corridors in Gold Rush and Dustbowl stage 3. Your enemies will likely target you once your banner is raised, so play conservatively to avoid getting overwhelmed. Unless you somehow manage to round up all 15 of your teammates on a 32-player server, you will have to use the banner at least twice in one life to get this achievement. Note that using the banner during Humiliation will spill over a bit into the next round, allowing you to buff everyone on your team when they respawn.

And that is how you do it, men!
The Soldier

Ain't Got Time to Bleed
Ain't Got Time to Bleed
Kill 3 players with the Equalizer in a single life without being healed.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: The Equalizer will do more damage the lower health you have. When surrounded by enemies, whip out your Equalizer and run towards the nearest target. Rocket jumping into groups of enemies and switching to the Equalizer afterwards can allow you to easily get into melee range without being killed. For example, you can rocket jump into a group of unaware Snipers (such as in 2Fort) and easily kill them. Getting three kills in quick succession is not required; simply don't die or be healed until you do so. Keeping the Equalizer out will prevent a Medic from healing you, but still, try to avoid Dispensers or medkits until you're done. Accomplishing this during a Melee fight in Sudden Death will also count towards this achievement.

Backdraft Dodger
Backdraft Dodger
Kill a Pyro who has airblasted one of your rockets in the last 10 seconds.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: To unlock this achievement, you do not need to kill the Pyro in question with a rocket. Once a Pyro does reflect one of your rockets, use whatever method you deem fit to dispatch them. If you choose to use rockets, the Pyro may just continue to reflect them away, so using the Shotgun can make this a bit easier. If you have the Buff Banner or Gunboats equipped, try to aim for the floor or walls near the Pyro. They will still suffer splash damage and have a harder time reflecting the rockets. It's possible to use your Shovel or Equalizer, but at close range against a Flamethrower (or possibly Axtinguisher), this is not recommended.

Bomb Squaddie
Bomb Squaddie
Destroy 10 sticky bombs with the shotgun in a single life.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: This can be tedious to earn, as Demomen tend to detonate their stickies if they realize that someone is destroying them. Try not to stand too close to the stickies you are destroying and don't blindly walk around corners. Since the first pellet of your Shotgun always travels right down the crosshair (provided that you haven't fired your Shotgun for at least one second), you can destroy stickies at a distance while staying out of range, ensuring that you survive long enough to complete this achievement. Whenever possible, try to assist Engineers in protecting their buildings from Demomen by shooting the stickies away. At the beginning of a Attack/Defend or Payload match (if on offense), you may also be able to snipe stickies that Demomen have placed around the gates.

Brothers in Harms
Brothers in Harms
Kill 10 enemies while assisting or being assisted by another Soldier.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: Try to aim at the same targets as friendly Soldiers whenever possible. If possible, try to find another Soldier on your team who also needs the achievement and stick with him. If at least one of you is using the Buff Banner, achievement can be significantly easy, as killing someone while under its effect automatically gives an assist to the banner wielder. If both of you are using the Buff Banner, you can use the Mini-Crit boost from each other to deal increased damage and charge up your own banner.

Crockets Are Such B.S.
Crockets Are Such B.S.
Shoot two non-boosted crit rockets in a row.
Difficulty: Very Easy
How to obtain: Your Critical hit chance will increase depending on the damage you do within a set period of time in a single life (to a maximum of a 12% chance per shot), so dealing high amounts of damage will increase the chance of firing two Critical rockets in succession. A 12% Critical chance means you have a 1.44% chance for two Critical rockets in a row. This achievement comes down to statistical luck, but you will eventually get it.

Death from Above
Death from Above
Rocket jump and kill 2 enemies before you land.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: If your team has a Medic with a Kritzkrieg charge ready, rocket jump when he deploys it on you and quickly fire a rocket at the nearest group of enemy players before you fly out of the Medic's range. Control points and chokepoints usually have more than one player closely clumped together, making them good places to complete this achievement. You will also earn this achievement if you manage to kill 2 enemies while performing the Equalizer's taunt.

Death From Below
Death From Below
Kill 10 opponents who are airborne with the Direct Hit.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: You do not have to know how to juggle enemies, although that is the premise behind this achievement. As long as an enemy is in the air when you kill them, you will get credit. You can pop enemies into the air using your own Direct Hit rockets or receive aid from allied Soldiers, Demomen, or Pyros, all who have attacks that can send enemies skyward. Keep an eye out for jumping or falling opponents. Other Soldiers make prime targets; they are slow, and often jump out of reflex when firing. Take advantage of the Direct Hit's ability to Mini-Crit airborne targets to offset the difficulty caused by its small explosion radius.

Dominator
Dominator
Get 3 dominations in a single life.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: Dominations require four kills on the same target without them killing, or assisting in killing you. Having a Medic use a Kritzkrieg on you will greatly assist in dispatching foes quickly and earning dominations, on top of minimizing your chances of being killed. Once you get your first domination, play conservatively, sticking near your base so that if you are injured, a Dispenser or Medic will likely be nearby to heal you. Staying close to other teammates will help score dominations via kill assists and make it harder for enemies you are already dominating to single you out. Using the Buff Banner is strongly recommended, as it allows you to get assist kills without having to directly attack your enemies.

Duty Bound
Duty Bound
While rocket jumping kill an enemy with the Equalizer before you land or just after landing.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: Due to how the game registers rocket jumping players, it is possible to get this achievement if you get a melee kill shortly after landing or if you were propelled into the air by the rocket of an enemy Soldier. The damage boost that the Equalizer receives will help you get this, so try rocket jumping when your health is between 80 and 100. This will reduce your health to around 40, giving you the potential to deal more damage. One way to get this achievement is to damage a target with your rockets, then quickly execute a rocket jump to close the distance and kill them right after you land. To improve the chances of making a kill, you can try equipping the Buff Banner and activating it before attempting this achievement.

Engineer to Eternity
Engineer to Eternity
Kill an Engineer as he repairs his sentry gun while it's under enemy fire.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: Being on BLU on Attack/Defend maps will help you get this achievement, as Sentry Guns are much more common on the defending team. When your team makes a push at a Sentry Gun that is being fiercely guarded, circle around it, if possible, and use the Rocket Launcher's large splash radius to dispatch the Engineer as he repairs his Sentry Gun. Alternatively, if you have the Direct Hit and can get a good angle, you can shoot directly at the Engineer. With proper aim, killing him will require three rockets at most. If possible, try to get rockets to deal splash damage off of his Dispenser, hurting him and preventing him from being healed once it is destroyed. Be careful if the enemy Engineer is using the Wrangler (watch for the glowing shield), as they can attack you at any range with a tougher, harder-hitting Sentry Gun.

For Whom the Shell Trolls
For Whom the Shell Trolls
Bounce an opponent into the air with a rocket and then kill them with the shotgun before they land.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: Firing a rocket at an enemy's feet will bounce them into the air, at which point you need to shoot them down with the Shotgun. Classes with low health, such as Scouts, Medics and Spies, are prime targets for this tactic. One good rocket will propel them into the air and reduce their health to around 40, making them easy targets for your Shotgun. It is easier to juggle enemies using the default Rocket Launcher due to its larger splash radius.

Frags of our Fathers
Frags of our Fathers
Gib 1000 people.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: Enemies will usually explode into gibs when directly hit and killed with your Rocket Launcher. This achievement is straightforward, but requires quite a bit of playtime as Soldier. Critical rockets will always gib an enemy, no matter how far they were from the center of the explosion when killed. Note that the enemy must gib; ragdoll deaths will not count for this achievement.

Geneva Contravention
Geneva Contravention
Kill 3 defenseless players after a single match has ended.
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
How to obtain: The difficulty of this achievement depends largely on luck and positioning. Try to make your way towards the enemy spawn room right before your team is about to win, then let fly with the Critical boosted rockets at common hiding places (being careful not to get tauntkilled as well). The default Rocket Launcher will help in killing fleeing enemies due to the larger splash radius.

Gore-a! Gore-a! Gore-a!
Gore-a! Gore-a! Gore-a!
Provide the enemy with a freezecam of you taunting over 3 of their body parts.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: Taunt every time you gib an enemy at close range and eventually they will get a freezecam shot of you with three of their body parts. If possible, try to gib an enemy in an enclosed room, as their body parts will not be able to travel far. This achievement will not unlock if you do it on a BOT.

Guns of the Navar0wned
Guns of the Navar0wned
Kill 5 Engineer Sentry Guns while you are standing outside of their range.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: To unlock this achievement, simply fire rockets at enemy Sentry Guns from a distance. Take advantage of how rockets that hit buildings do not suffer from falloff damage. It should not take more than three or four rockets (or two from the Direct Hit) to kill an unattended Sentry Gun. However, if there is an Engineer behind the gun, he will be able to repair the Sentry faster than you can damage it. Try aiming at a solid surface near the Engineer to dispatch him using splash damage. If the Engineer is using the Wrangler, take care of the Engineer first or wait for the Sentry’s shield to drop.

Hamburger Hill
Hamburger Hill
Defend a cap point 30 times.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: This achievement will take some time, but can be sped up by playing defensively and staying near points on control point maps. Defending any control point, Payload cart, or killing an enemy who is holding your intelligence will contribute one point towards this achievement.

Medals of Honor
Medals of Honor
Finish a round as an MVP on a team of 6 or more players 10 times.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: MVPs are the top three point scorers for the winning team of each round. Even if you are at the top of your team’s scoreboard, you will not be an MVP unless you still earn within the top three point scores for that round. This achievement can be done more quickly by excelling in Arena mode. To increase your points per round, try to carry the Buff Banner, capture or defend points, and lead your team’s charges whenever possible. Having a Medic provide you with Kritzkrieg charges can also help you earn more points.

Mutually Assured Destruction
Mutually Assured Destruction
Kill an enemy sniper with a rocket after he kills you.
Difficulty: Hard
How to obtain: Snipers will regularly aim at Soldiers due to their bulky size and slow run speed, but this achievement still requires a bit of luck. If you fire rockets at enemy Snipers from a distance, such as on the battlements of 2Fort, you might eventually meet the requirements for this achievement. An alternate way to obtain this achievement is to gib both a Sniper and yourself while he is attacking you. The kill messages will say that the Sniper "finished you off", unlocking the achievement.

Near Death Experience
Near Death Experience
Kill 20 enemies with your Equalizer while you have less than 25 health.
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
How to obtain: General play with the Equalizer will eventually unlock this achievement. A more efficient way to get the kills necessary is to damage yourself with the Rocket Launcher, then hide and ambush opponents. Try hiding in dark corners, above doorways, or in areas that are not accessed frequently. Snipers make easier targets, as they are notoriously unaware of their immediate surroundings. They will go down in at most two hits, denying them the chance to counterattack.

Out, Damned Scot!
Out, Damned Scot!
Kill 500 enemy Demomen.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: Target any Demomen that you see and kill them using any means necessary. Always try to use your class advantages to get the upper hand by attacking them directly, where their indirect-fire weapons can't hit you as easily. Always keep an eye out for sticky traps, using your Shotgun to remove them if need be. Use your Shotgun on Demomen using the Chargin' Targe, as it is more difficult to kill them with your Rocket Launcher. Having the Equalizer equipped will improve your chances of killing an enemy Demoman in close quarters.

Ride of the Valkartie
Ride of the Valkartie
Ride the cart for 30 seconds.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: On a Payload map, continuously push the cart for 30 seconds. Jumping on top of the cart can make it easier to stay on it, but will also make you a conspicuous target for Snipers to kill. You may have better luck with this achievement on larger Payload maps, such as Badwater Basin or Gold Rush stage 3, where it takes longer for the enemy team to regroup and make their way back to the cart.

Screamin' Eagle
Screamin' Eagle
Kill 20 enemies from above.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: You do not need to be airborne or rocket jumping to earn kills for this achievement. All that is required is that you kill an enemy from a higher elevation. This can be done when defending higher control points such as the middle point on Well, point C on Gravel Pit, and the spires on Badlands.

Semper Fry
Semper Fry
Kill 20 enemies while you are on fire.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: When are ignited by a Pyro, instead of picking up health or calling for a Medic, simply continue playing as usual, killing any nearby enemies. Pyros that are unskilled with the compression blast or using the Backburner are easy prey, so you may want to target them first. Using the Equalizer may help, as you will do more damage as the fire lowers your health.

S*M*A*S*H
S*M*A*S*H
Assist a Medic in exploding 5 enemies with a single ÜberCharge.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: The Kritzkrieg is far more effective for this achievement than the regular ÜberCharge, so be sure to ask for a Kritzkrieg charge whenever possible. Try to find a Medic who is after the Blast Assist achievement to help you. Using the default Rocket Launcher rather than the Direct Hit or Black Box is strongly recommended. The Direct Hit has a smaller blast radius, making it much to kill multiple targets with a single rocket, while the Black Box only carries three rockets in its magazine, forcing you to reload after the third shot. It is also possible to get this achievement by killing players during the 10 seconds of Crit buff after an intelligence capture, or the 5 seconds of Crit buff granted after picking up candy packets from dead players during the Halloween event.

Spray of Defeat
Spray of Defeat
Use a grenade to gib a player.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: Taunting with the Equalizer drawn will kill both you and any nearby enemies, including those that are next to or even behind you, rather than only the ones in front of you. Like other taunt kills, the duration of this taunt is quite long. Unlike other taunt kills, failing means a free trip to the respawn room. Distracted Snipers and Heavies make easy targets. Performing the taunt around a corner will allow you to catch enemies by surprise. Alternatively, you can shoot a Soldier that is performing this taunt and allow him to gib himself, crediting you for the grenade kill and the achievement.

The Boostie Boys
The Boostie Boys
Buff 15 teammates with the Buff Banner in a single life.
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
How to obtain: This achievement can be obtained by using either the Buff Banner or Battalion's Backup. If using the Banner, the greater splash damage of the default Rocket Launcher or Black Box will make filling the Rage meter significantly easier. The Battalion’s Backup requires you to take 175 damage from enemies for a full charge, allowing for it to be used several times in quick succession if you fight on the front lines with a Medic nearby to heal. Whenever you have a full charge ready, notify your teammates via microphone and have them gather around you. If your team cannot be organized together, try to activate the buff when your team is pushing through an enclosed area, such as the corridors in Gold Rush and Dustbowl stage 3.

The Longest Daze
The Longest Daze
Kill 5 stunned or slowed players.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: Find a Scout buddy with the Sandman equipped and ask him to stun enemies, who you will then kill at your leisure. This achievement is made a little more difficult due to the fact that only balls launched at a longer range will stun players. Killing players running around in the "humiliation" pose will not count towards this achievement.

Alternatively, players scared by the ghost on the event version of Harvest or the Horseless Headless Horsemann on Mann Manor will count as "stunned." Killing them will count towards the achievement.

Trench Warfare
Trench Warfare
Kill your nemesis with a shovel.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: This achievement requires you to get a revenge kill using the Shovel, not the Equalizer. Try to perform this in an enclosed area, as the lack of speed boost granted by the Equalizer will make catching a fleeing foe difficult. If you try to weaken your nemesis with rockets or the Shotgun, be careful not to kill them prematurely and accidentally get revenge with the wrong weapon. Alternatively, ambush them after your teammates have weakened them and deal the finishing blow then. If you are having trouble with this achievement, you can allow yourself to be dominated by a class that you are strong against, such as a Sniper, and then flank and kill them at your leisure

Tri-Splatteral Damage
Tri-Splatteral Damage
Kill 3 enemies with a single critical rocket.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: It is recommended you have an assisting Medic ÜberCharge you with the Kritzkrieg to guarantee Critical rockets. Try to attack in a location where enemies are more likely to be bunched up, such as near a Teleporter Exit or if an enemy Soldier is leading a charge with the Buff Banner, around a dispenser in the middle of battle, or 3 people capping a point/ This achievement requires significant luck to complete, but it will happen eventually. Another time to try for this is using the Crit boost you receive after your team has captured the enemy intelligence on a CTF map.

War Crime and Punishment
War Crime and Punishment
In a single life, kill 3 enemies who have damaged a Medic that is healing you.
Difficulty: Medium
How to obtain: The criteria of this achievement requires the Medic to have taken damage from an enemy while healing you at the same time. As long as you look out for your Medic teammate, you should unlock this achievement through regular play. This does not have to be done for a single Medic, so if your Medic dies you can still attempt to complete the achievement, though you will probably get this achievement with a single Medic in most cases. Attacking while being ÜberCharged by a Kritzkrieg will also make this easier, as you will be able to kill your enemies very quickly, and they will be focusing fire on you and your Medic.

War Crime Spybunal
War Crime Spybunal
Kill a Spy who just backstabbed a teammate.
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
How to obtain: There is always the likelihood of witnessing a teammate die from a backstab, so simply try to kill the Spy with your Rocket Launcher if you see it happen. Keep an ear out for the Critical death screams and kill notifications in the top corner, and quickly turn around if you hear a loud scream near you to ensure that you don't meet the same fate. You can't immediately kill the Spy if he is using the Dead Ringer, as it allows him to survive even a point-blank Critical rocket, so listen for the telltale uncloaking noise if you suspect a Dead Ringer user, and kill him when he's vulnerable.

Where Eagles Dare
Where Eagles Dare
Get the highest possible rocket jump using jump and crouch.
Difficulty: Easy
How to obtain: This achievement will be very simple for experienced rocket jumpers, but for the inexperienced, read the rocket jump article to learn how to correctly execute one properly. Contrary to the achievement text, the jump does not have to be a max height rocket jump, using a distance rocket jump will also complete this achievement. Practicing using a rocket jump map and the Rocket Jumper can make this achievement easy to get.

Wings of Glory
Wings of Glory
Kill an enemy soldier while both you and the target are airborne.
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
How to obtain: This achievement requires quite a bit of luck, as you must meet an enemy Soldier and you must both be in midair within a distance close enough to each other. Kill the airborne Soldier before he kills you with any weapon practical for the situation. If your aim is good, you might get lucky with a well aimed rocket. The Direct Hit will help a lot since the rockets travel much faster and Mini-Crit on juggled opponents. Otherwise, use the Shotgun or your melee weapon if you're close enough. While on the ground, if you can catch an airborne Soldier off-guard with a rocket and you are confident it will hit them and kill them, quickly jump in the air and you may trigger the achievement.

Worth a Thousand Words
Worth a Thousand Words
Provide the enemy with a freezecam of your 21 gun salute.
Difficulty: Very Easy
How to obtain: Simply kill an enemy, and taunt with the Shotgun equipped. You do not need to kill the enemy with the Shotgun, though doing so obviates the need to switch weapons.
