Pyro Update byl druhou velkou aktualizací pro hru Team Fortress 2.
Tento update se zaměřil na postavu Pyra. Společně se třemi novými zbraněmi byl předělán Pyrův taunt Hadouken na taunt zabíjející. Tento update také přidal možnost odfukování pomocí Plamenometu.
Dvě komunitní mapy, Fastlane a Turbine, se v tomto updatu staly oficiálními. V návaznosti na mapy byl hráčům poskytnut odkaz na Valve wikipedii, na které byl detailně popsán design a konstruování map do Team Fortress 2. V tomto updatu bylo také představeno video Meet the Sniper.
Pyro Update byl vydán 19. června 2008.

Odhalování informací
Pyro Update byl první update, který byl odhalován postupně. Třináct dní před samotným vydáním updatu byla zveřejněna zpráva o příchozím updatu a bylo také oznámeno video Meet the Sniper. Zpráva obsahovala odkaz na obrázek zbraně Axtinguisher.
Po vydání videa Meet the Sniper byla "představena" zbraň Flare Gun tím, že Sniper na konci videa zabil Pyra nesoucího již zmíněnou zbraň. Později byl na nově založeném oficiálním blogu vysvětlen postup při vývoji Flare Gunu. Do pár dní byly představeny všechny nové zbraně a den nato 35 Pyro achievementů.
Drobnosti
- Backburner původně přidával hráči, jež ho nesl 50 bodů zdraví a nemohl odfukovat. To bylo později zrušeno kvůli vybalancování zbraně.
