Robot Destruction is an upcoming game mode announced on July 8th, 2014. Currently this game mode is in beta and only includes one map, rd_asteroid. The map is available to play by going to the quickplay menu, checking "Play Beta Maps" and selecting "Robot Destruction". The release date for the game mode and map is currently unknown. Because it's in beta, certain textures and animations are still missing.

Robot Destruction maps are symmetrical like Control Point maps. The game mode requires players to go into the enemy base and destroy their robots to earn points. When the robots are destroyed they will drop points that can be collected to increase your team's score. The Robots are split into three tiers, each tier being harder to kill, deeper into your enemy's base and drop more points. Like Control Points, the next tier of Robots will be unlocked after you killed the previous tier. Your team's points will be stored in a Reactor Core deep in your base. The Reactor Core.can be collected and captured like an Intelligence briefcase, when the Reactor Core is captured a number of points will be restored to you. Currently the game will go on indefinitely until one team reaches a certain score, in that case that team will win.

The Robots are not like the ones of Mann vs. Machine, these Robots are harmless and will run when you attack it. Currently these Robots are immune to Airblast, Afterburn and Bleeding but that may change later on due to the fact that this is a beta game mode, meaning that it's still in development.
