Den Fjerde årlige Spectral Halloween Special (Engelsk)er en opdatering som blev udgivet den 26, Oktober 2012.

Tidslinje

Den 23, Oktober 2012 blev portrættet af Spyen på den Officielle TF2 blog ændret til et kranie. Når man klikkede på kraniet blev man sendt videre til en hemmelig side (Engelsk). Med en avis side ved navn "The Teufort Reader". Bunden af avisen er revet i stykker og to kort med underlige tegn kan ses.

Den efterfølgende dag blev der udgivet en tegneserie ved navn Doom-Mates. Tegneserien omhandler Merasmus' hjemkomst fra hans weekend ophold ved Wizardcon og hans voksende vrede mod Soldier.

Den efterfølgende dag blev der udgivet en side som annoncerede at eventet vil begynde den efterfølgende dag, samt et link til en opdaterings side (Engelsk) som indeholdt alt informationen. Siden annoncerede en ny Mann vs. Machine mission ved navn "Wave 666", hvor spillerne skal kæmpe imod zombier i stedet for robotter, samt en ny Halloween Konge af bakken kamp (på koth_lakeside_event[1]) med Merasmus som bossen. Der blev også tilføjet to nye præstationer og Magic Spells, som spillere kan påføre på deres genstande i deres rygsæk for at give dem nye effekter, såsom maling der skifter farve eller flammende fodspor. Udover det vil gave systemet også være anderledes, sidste år kunne alle samle gaverne op, men i år vil spillere få private gaver som kun de kan samle op.

Merasmus

Hovedartikel: Merasmus

Merasmus er en ikke spil-bar troldmands boss, som angriber RED og BLU holdene indtil han er blevet slået ihjel. Han har adskillige angreb blandt andet bruger han Bombinomicon til at kaste en regn af bomber rundt omkring Kontrolpunktet. Hans helbreed varierer fra 50000 til omkring 100000, afhængigt af hvor mange spillere der er på serveren. Merasmus kommer ikke frem indtil der er ti eller flere spillere på serveren (tilskuerer tæller ikke med).
