Gender
In the class suggestion area of the TF2 main menu (right upper corner) pyro is being referred to as "her".
Why don't you give her a shot?
I consider this to be quite a confirmation enough to say that pyro is a woman. I've been on a many month break from TF2, but I know about the speculation and weird evidence for and against pyro being a woman. I'll be editing the article accordingly. --Maska 16:28, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

- That may just be referring to the fact that the voice actor is male. Truly, I believe there is no definitive answer and Valve will never provide one. Just leave the page ambiguous and let the conspiracy theories fly. It's fun! --Firestorm

There should be a section devoted to the pyro's gender confusion
- The main menu refers to the Pyro as either "him" or "her", randomly changing each time the game is started.
- The game files (scripts/global_actors.txt) refers to the pyro as "male"
- The Pyro's Mildly Disturbing Halloween Mask shows a picture of a small bird, implying that the pyro is a chick
- The Pyro Beanie seems to imply that the Pyro is a boy (or merely that the Pyro has a childlike intellect)
- The whiskered gentleman is an obvious nod towards The Pyro being male. The Guadalajara is not exactly a feminine item either.
Airblast's basic tips
I know the basic tips section is off-limit, but I think it'd be appropriate adding the new airblast related tips. After all it's a vanilla feature.--Kid Of The Century 10:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

- It depends more on what you mean by "vanilla": to me (and reasonably) they're all the features you have right off the bat. Compression Blast, upgradable dispensers/teleporters, cloak recharging through metal and building hauling are all abilities you have at your disposition the very moment you start the game for the first time, and therefore they should be in the basic tip section. I concur it should be noted they're available on the PC version of the game only (even if to me it seems the Wiki is almost entirely PC-oriented).--Kid Of The Century 13:23, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Support The definition of "vanilla" in regards to software is "as delivered" - including "[upgraded] with official patches" (Just putting this here generally to avoid confusion). Dictionary aside, I don't see why a few airblast tips can't be under "Basic Strategy". -RJackson 13:37, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Pyro's trivia
"The Pyro is the only class in the game that possesses weapons in each slot that can individually guarantee Critical hits under certain circumstances; the Backburner Crits enemies from behind, the Flare Gun Crits ignited targets at long range, and the Axtinguisher Crits ignited targets."
This is debatable. The spy has the ambassador and the knife, and the sapper isn't a weapon per se. Should this be changed? - Mistah Phoenix 18:33, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
I erased a Trivia fact that said that on the Xbox360 Version of Team Fortress 2, The Pyro is completely fire-retardant. This is incorrect, I play the Xbox360 version. He is not completely fire-retardant.
