Festive Crates-UNUSED?!!!!! I cant say that the Festive winter crate isUnused because it is used! Used by people who bought Festive Winter Keys. It is not suitable here in the Unused Content because it had been used in a month. I think somebody might place a new section in the "Item Drop System" article "no longer drops" section. Laro mentioned back during the Manniversary update that there were 2 unused decal badges he made in the GCF. I haven't gotten around to finding them yet, but I'm positive they are there, or were there. Anyway, we should get pages up for both of them, maybe as one page for both the items since they're just the same badge, just one is horizontal and one is vertical. :Although they function similarly, no, as it was to be the unlockable secondary for the Engineer. However, it wasn't added, being replaced by the Wrangler instead. == Some stuff to be moved here, perhaps? ==

Stuff like the Revamped Assault cannon and all the 3 extra rocket launchers should have an unique page? The biggest difference of those weapons from the other ones that there is only the textures (something like the Tobor page). The Soldier rocket launchers has a lot of unused images (and VMT's), the Assault Cannon has plenty of files as well. We can also include that those weapons are sheenmap-compatible (the .vmts contains $sheenmap, if it works, I don't know, we don't have the models of those weapons to try it out).

Not to mention, that those weapons in Rocket Launcher and Minigun pages aren't accurate, this because they aren't really that weapon in an old shape (beta), they are different weapons, some just got from the TFC files while others have textures but no models, while others are remakes of the weapon.

Also, should we upload the sounds for the unused fortress_reel and fortress_reel_loop?

Thanks. Gabrielwoj (talk) 12:38, 6 May 2014 (PDT)

The Update Board
Within the files of TF2 there is an effect (props_teaser/update_billboard001) that I've never seen been used in a map before. If this has been used, notify me and I'll remove this. The billboard depicts images from all the class updates as well as 2 folders: one that reads "Don't open until [blurred text, may read August]. That means you, Soldier." The other folder reads "CLASSIFIED 11-12-1-19 2-1-11:2". The folder (props_teaser) also contains 2 more effects (update_poster001 and update_poster002). Poster 1 is blue, and shows a satellite dish on a row of building pointed at the moon, drawn in a cartoon style. Superimposed on the picture is "we sell products... MANN CO ... and get in fights." The second picture is red and has a cartoon-styled Pyro silhouette standing next to a building in a canyon, doing the primary stock taunt. The same words from the first poster are superimposed on the image. Both posters have curling corners and thumbtacks near each corner, as if they were to be pinned in a wall.

If anyone knows what this is, please notify me. Otherwise, this is a major update teaser.

Unused Mannpower Icons
I stumbled upon a couple assumedly unused Mannpower powerup icons today.

First is "Pestilence" (no red/blu team version). I'm guessing from name and general icon idea that it was the beta icon for plague:

And then "Thorns". This might be an unused transition from the warlock hat to reflect, since thorns are an icon for something that hurts you on touch.

:Thorns was already discussed earlier, someone have found powerup models on GMOD files, but not on TF2's. The other one I haven't read anywhere. == Dynamite Pack a grenade? ==

Shortly before the game's release in 2007, the game's source code was leaked. It includes the scrapped Dynamite Pack, which was a secondary grenade. I only know this because of Pre Fortress 2, which might be wrong, but go play for yourself. Demoman's secondary weapon is a detonate-on-command grenade launcher in Pre Fortress 2, NOT the dynamite pack. I think that the Dynamite Pack should be moved to the Secondary Grenades section. Sausagea1000 (talk) 21:16, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

:If the source code says it's a secondary grenade, make it a secondary grenade. If the mod only says it, don't change it. The mod is not an official source.<br>GrampaSwood (talk) 21:17, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

::We now have the 2017 source code and can verify easily what it is. The MIRV grenade was at one point a grenade. Then Valve decided it would be better as a secondary weapon. There's also the original 3-stick bundle of dynamite that the Demoman has in Trailer 1. That 3-stick bundle apparently was detonated with the Trigger. Also the article is for the content for Team Fortress 2. Things function differently in Pre-Fortress 2 than in TF2.
