This page is for suggesting new tips to be added to the project, or changes to the tips already in the Final page. Tips here will be regularly reviewed and, if of sufficient quality, will be moved to the Final page; tips not of quality will be left for editors to improve.

Formatting

Changes

When suggesting changes to current tips, include the existing full line from Final page, and your modified line below - this allows for easy comparison of your changes and for easy replacement within Final page.

New tips

For new tips, simply suggest the tip's text - not adhering to tf_english formatting - this will be implemented if a tip is accepted into Final page. Feedback on new tips, or changes to them, should be given on a new line below the tip. Sign tips and responses to tips to make it easier to keep track of changes.

Scout

Soldier

  • "Tip_3_11" "As a Soldier, angle your rockets slightly behind you to propel yourself forward faster!"
    • "Tip_3_1" "As a Soldier, you can use rockets to alter your jump, the angle of trajectory in which your rocket impacts will change your speed and velocity. Crouching will also increase your distance."

Scout

  • "As a Scout, the Mini-Crits achieved through the Soda Popper's Hype Meter will also effect your secondary and melee weapons!"
  • "As a Scout, watch your health when using the Atomizer. A wrong triple jump could cost a life!"
  • "As a Scout, you can combine the Atomizer and Force-A-Nature to achieve four consecutive jumps."
  • "As a Scout, the Soda Popper reloads faster than the Force-A-Nature, but does less damage."

Soldier

  • "As a Soldier, the Righteous Bison can hit the same enemy multiple times, and will hit more on enemies who are moving away from you. Use it to punish retreating enemies!"
  • "As a Soldier, the Disciplinary Action has a long range. Use it to quickly help slower allies to the front lines."

Demoman

  • "As a Demoman, your Eyelander will collect any stored heads from a slain enemy Demoman."
  • "As a Demoman, the amount of heads you collect with your Eyelander will increase the damage your shield bash does."
  • "As a Demoman, you can use the Chargin' Targe or Splendid Screen to launch off small ramps and go flying! Use it to surprise enemies by charging over their heads."
  • "As a Demoman, a successful taunt kill with the Half-Zatoichi will allow you to sheath the sword"

Engineer

  • "As an Engineer, be careful when using your Widowmaker near your Dispenser. If you are not careful, you will quickly deplete your Dispener's ammo reserve!"
  • "As an Engineer, be careful when switching your melee weapon loadout, it will destroy all placed buildings!"

Medic

  • "As a Medic, the Overdose can help you run faster, if you already have some Ubercharge, but at cost of lower damage"
  • "As a Medic, if you need to heal a lot of patients on battlefield in no time, consider using Quick-Fix. But don't forget, that you will lose invulnerability with it."
  • "As a Medic, the Crusader's Crossbow, if fired continuously at the same ally, has a faster rate of healing than the Medi-Gun"
  • "As a Medic, use the health information provided by the Solemn Vow to pick out weakened enemies"

General

  • "Your critical hit chance increases as you do more damage. Melee weapons have the highest critical hit chance."

Medieval Mode

  • "As a Heavy, avoid using the Gloves of Running Urgency in Medieval Mode. Your only method of attack will cost you valuable health!"
  • "As a Sniper, the Huntsman is a powerful weapon in Medieval Mode. Use your long range to avoid melee fights, and score headshots on enemies who are unaware of your location."
  • "As a Sniper, you can use the braziers found on Medieval Mode to light your Huntsman arrows. Lit arrows do additional damage!"
