== Error creating thumbnail ==
Will you accept the title of Honorary Translator of Korean Translation Team?<br>
+
Hey, I've recently been remaking some paint galleries for some potato medals and I've run into a problem, maybe. I uploaded the first of the galleries today and saw that many of the images I had uploaded show up in the gallery and file itself with the text saying "Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination." (Example [[:File:Painted Madness vs Machines Burnished Beryl 2019 UNPAINTED.png]]) I was just curious if this was just a cache issue or if I should be doing something different before uploading more images. I would appreciate any help!

Hi Tark,

You have playing an important rule on korean pages instead of korean translators;
+
Please do the above and delete as much data and public info as possible. I do not want anything with this alias on the website. I would like my account to be renamed to DeletedUserXXXX and all of my edits and revision history to be hidden.

and your great contribution deserves respect.

== Gloves of Running Urgently uses wrong defindex. ==

also I feel honored to award the title of the Honorary Translator to you on behalf of the korean team.
+
Hi. The GRU is using the wrong defindex. The weapon had a new defindex when the Jungle Inferno update came in. The current defindex "1184" on the [[Template:Dictionary/defindex]] page is now used exclusively to the robots on MVM. The new index should be "239". Due to this, clicking to purchase the weapon on the page does not work, as it's redirecting to the old defindex.

thank you Tark, you did a great job for the Wiki and our team :D

Was going to update but saw that the page is automatically replaced by this bot, so.

Hi Tark. You expressed displeasure with the content I created for April Fools Day 2020, instead delaying it to 2021 which arguably created other problems. Will we include Operation Peculiar Pandemonium, the usual Pineapple.TF custom MVM memes tour, on the main page's current events section once it gets a blog post soon? It's a short event, April Fools tours usually only last a week or so; it shouldn't preempt anything potentially more notable in say, a week's timespan, the way Binary Blackout lasted four months. -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 14:29, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
:: Did you know that april fools day 2020 is less than two weeks away? I don't like the assumption that I didn't know it was an april fools page. Seems like bad faith to me. [[User:Naleksuh|Naleksuh]] ([[User talk:Naleksuh|talk]]) 01:12, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

::: It was a page created merely as a joke for April Fools' Day last year. If we were to do something for April Fools this year, which we very probably won't because there's no time and also no interest from the users apparently, we'd make a new page for it. The reason why it seems to be started in 2016 IIRC was because they tried to make the joke for april fool's 2016, but it ended up not happening; In 2019 there was renewed interest in doing something for April Fools so they did it reusing the page that was left over from 2016. [[User:StargazerG|StargazerG]] ([[User talk:StargazerG|talk]]) 02:46, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

:: Not directly involved, no. I just grab the info that's available from tf_english.txt and items_game.txt and make sandbox pages for the eventual tour. -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 22:19, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
:::: 2012 was organized in about twelve hours, so ten days is loads of time. Don't know how you got the idea that there's "no time". ::::: Stepping in here. If you want to use the previous years page, IMO, you don't move the old one, you copy the parts you want to reuse to the new page. The 2019 page, IMO, should remain a record of 2019 Community event efforts, if we manage a 2020 event, it should have its own workspace. Tark, does it seem Naleksuh is volunteering? :::::: Yeah making a new page is what I would have done by default, the reason I moved the page is because I saw it had been moved in previous years. I'm fine with simply creating a new one. [[User:Naleksuh|Naleksuh]] ([[User talk:Naleksuh|talk]]) 18:45, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

::: Good.
:: Yeah i'm sorry for moving the page. I moved it because I saw that it had been moved before, but I didn't know that was because it wasn't used in 2016. :::: That's the first I've heard of a new description template. I've added the medal descriptions, but what do I do in terms of the {{tl|backpack item}} displays I'm using? I understand that putting the item's name in the {{code|item-name}} field makes it read the string from the dictionary, and the name gets filled in. But the {{code|item-description}} field just displays plain text, like it always has. Do I put nothing in there, do I put the item name in there? I imagine it would still just display the item name as text. -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 01:50, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

* Not using Show preview, [https://imgur.com/a/TzwHo4O As he did 23 edits in less than 3 hours on a single template that is not on userspace].

== Hopeful Heart Backpack Icon Redirect Fix ==

Hi there, I was wondering if undoing my redirect of the Madness vs Machines Hopeful Heart 2019 backpack icon to the Titanium Tank Gilded Giver 2020 backpack icon would cause any problems. Back when I did the redirect, I was told the Gilded Giver would have the same icon as the Hopeful Heart, and both I and Swordstone, who was running the event, were pretty certain Valve wouldn't allow them to use a new icon during the medal ban -- which turned out to not be the case, and they were granted a new one. However, now that there is a new icon for the Gilded Giver, its icon is currently overriding the correct icon for the Hopeful Heart back on the Madness vs Machines article; in short, I'd like for you to restore the original purple Hopeful Heart icon to its rightful place on that article, and keep the Gilded Giver's icon the way it currently is, if possible. At least we know for sure now that new backpack icons are possible, even during the medal ban.

: * Sempre que for possível, deixe neutro: "''In Mann vs. Machine you are...''" -> "''Em Mann vs. Máquina você...''", "''... in a round of Mann vs. Machine.''" -> "''...em uma rodada de Mann vs. Máquina.''"

: * O acrônimo, MvM, fica no masculino em frases curtas e neutro em frases mais longas: "''In MvM Mann Up Mode''" -> "''No modo Mann Up do MvM''", "''MvM Guide''" -> "''Guia do MvM''", "''...MvM server...''" -> "''...servidor de MvM...''"

: * Caso contrário ''sempre'' escreva "modo" na frente: "''Present this voucher in Mann vs. Machine...''" -> "''Apresente este vale-brinde no modo Mann vs. Máquina...''"

'''3)''' Como eu devo traduzir {{code|[[Equip region|equip_region]]}}? Eu traduzo desta forma: {{code|[[Equip region/pt-br|equip_region]]}} (região de equipamento)

'''4)''' "NPC" deve ser traduzido para "personagem não jogável"? Se não, caso eu queira pluralizar "NPC", como eu faria? "NPCs"?

== Potato Soup ==

Cooks have been puréeing potatoes into soup to thicken the texture for years, yet potatoes can also hold their own as a silky and satisfying soup, even after swapping out heavy cream for milk to lower the calorie count. Some recipes call for blending all the ingredients to ensure the smoothest consistency, but this one keeps some chunks for texture. (In fact, consider adding potato chunks for extra bulk in any soup or stew recipe to increase the comfort factor.) Topped with the typical baked potato fixin's, this soup boasts the boldness of a loaded baked potato. https://blog.cheapism.com/different-ways-to-cook-potatoes/<br>

== Pid Category Change ==

I notice you've been changing a lot of images uploaded using subst:pid from the Painted item category to the Item skin images category. These items are mostly base RED and BLU team color images, so my question is: should we change Template:Pid to automatically add the item skin images category, instead of automatically adding the painted item category, or is there a different template I should be using if I want to automatically add the item skins category instead, when I upload RED and BLU files? -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 03:57, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

: RED and BLU are base colors, they should be classified as Item skin, not Painted item. I'm not aware of any template that automatically does this. — [[User:Tark|<span style="font-weight:bold;color: #5BC236">Tark</span>]] [[Help:Group rights#Moderators|<span class="locbg">lm</span>]][[Help:Language_translation|<span class="locbg">(pt-br)</span>]] 10:33, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

::In that case, I think we should probably make one. It should be as simple as copying most of Template:Pid over, and changing the Painted Item category to the Item Skin category. That way, we can still have an easy-to-use template to put in which does everything correctly automatically, but applies the correct category for base team colors. If you'd like to use it, feel free. You'll want to add the following to [[MediaWiki:Common.css]]:<br>

{{code|.mp-event-image { margin: -1px; max-width: 100%; height: auto; } .mp-event-link { width: 100px !important;} }}

== Featured Community Date ==

Hi there, I notice the wiki got a new main page section today, the featured community date. It says that Hexadecimal Horrors began on Oct 18, but it entered beta on October 2nd, and publicly launched on October 12th, as stated in [[Operation Hexadecimal Horrors|the article]] I made for it, as well as the Steam group announcements; it's just that the TF Team's blog post came out on the 18th, a few days after the event began. Would you be able to update the date on that to either of those, probably the 12th?<br>Also, is this new featured community date feature a replacement for the pitched "Latest Community News" main page section I noticed was getting voted on before? -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 22:03, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

: You can update it yourself by editing [[Template:Updates]] ({{code|community-start}}). Beta is irrelevant, please set as October 12.

== Community Strategy Project. ==

Hello, I am The Pissineer. I recently started editing here on this wiki, and I noticed that some of the new maps do not have any class specific strategies. I added a couple to one of the maps, and that is when I came across the Community Strategy Project. I noticed that you guys are currently recruiting new contributors, and I saw that you were one of the most active contributors as of the time I am writing this. I was wondering if you would be willing to recruit me for the Community Strategy project, as I believe I would make a great addition to the team. I am still rather new, so I do not know if I am supposed to ask you to recruit me, or if you are supposed to talk to me first. If it is the latter, then I apologize in advance if I'm bothering you. Thank you kindly. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. [[User:The Pissineer|The Pissineer]] ([[User talk:The Pissineer|talk]]) 15:18, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Error creating thumbnail

Hey, I've recently been remaking some paint galleries for some potato medals and I've run into a problem, maybe. I uploaded the first of the galleries today and saw that many of the images I had uploaded show up in the gallery and file itself with the text saying "Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination." (Example File:Painted Madness vs Machines Burnished Beryl 2019 UNPAINTED.png) I was just curious if this was just a cache issue or if I should be doing something different before uploading more images. I would appreciate any help! H20verdrive (talk) 02:45, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Hey, that's only a cache issue that should not affect images and should fix itself in a few days. This is the most recent image stored, which is what you uploaded · Ashe (talk) 03:10, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Delete my account.

> While the Wiki Staff (even administrators) are unable to fully delete accounts on the Team Fortress Wiki due to limitations of the software, users that no longer wish to have their account publicly present on the Team Fortress Wiki may request a deletion of any self-made content created and/or uploaded within their user space, including the user page. Users may also request their edits to be hidden in the History tab and/or have their account renamed to DeletedUserXXXX. The aforementioned task(s) can only be carried out by administrators, however.

Please do the above and delete as much data and public info as possible. I do not want anything with this alias on the website. I would like my account to be renamed to DeletedUserXXXX and all of my edits and revision history to be hidden.

Done. — Tark 14:16, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Gloves of Running Urgently uses wrong defindex.

Hi. The GRU is using the wrong defindex. The weapon had a new defindex when the Jungle Inferno update came in. The current defindex "1184" on the Template:Dictionary/defindex page is now used exclusively to the robots on MVM. The new index should be "239". Due to this, clicking to purchase the weapon on the page does not work, as it's redirecting to the old defindex.

Was going to update but saw that the page is automatically replaced by this bot, so.

Oh, and I posted this on User talk:PhoneWave beforehand. I thought no one used the "About this board" section, lol. User Gabrielwoj Signature Icon.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 03:04, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

April Fools Day

Hi Tark. You expressed displeasure with the content I created for April Fools Day 2020, instead delaying it to 2021 which arguably created other problems. Since April Fools Day 2022 is coming up, I was wondering if you had any comments or thoughts or simply wanted to use whatever is made? Naleksuh (talk) 22:02, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

I haven't been following the wiki lately, but I recall some users are throwing ideas around for an April Fools event. I'm not sure how far they are (or if they gave up already), but I'd suggest contacting them instead (see April Fools talk page).
Once you guys have a project ready to go, please contact an active staff member so they can review and setup everything. — Tark 00:38, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Operation Peculiar Pandemonium on Main Page Current Events?

Will we include Operation Peculiar Pandemonium, the usual Pineapple.TF custom MVM memes tour, on the main page's current events section once it gets a blog post soon? It's a short event, April Fools tours usually only last a week or so; it shouldn't preempt anything potentially more notable in say, a week's timespan, the way Binary Blackout lasted four months. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 14:29, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Are you involved in this project in any way? I always see you making pages before events like this one are even announced. — Tark 18:15, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
Not directly involved, no. I just grab the info that's available from tf_english.txt and items_game.txt and make sandbox pages for the eventual tour. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 22:19, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
Good.
As I said before, you're free to include any events that have a blog post. Events must have a start and end date and must be labeled as such on Steam: Bowmann Brawl Tournament is eligible, Operation Binary Blackout is not.
Also please remember to make use of the {{item description}} template. — Tark 15:05, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
That's the first I've heard of a new description template. I've added the medal descriptions, but what do I do in terms of the {{backpack item}} displays I'm using? I understand that putting the item's name in the item-name field makes it read the string from the dictionary, and the name gets filled in. But the item-description field just displays plain text, like it always has. Do I put nothing in there, do I put the item name in there? I imagine it would still just display the item name as text. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 01:50, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
|item-description = {{item description|medal name}}Tark 02:03, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
