Custom Gamemode
I was wondering if I could get a permission to post a map with a custom gamemode: zf_asylum_b2, this version just got released and it's a very high quality map, I could get in screenshots and work on the page myself. I think it would complement the Zombie fortress mod section very nicely by adding this single reference map with screenshots. the only reason why I'm suggesting this is because it's the only original zf map with a good enough quality to be placed here, but this is my opinion, any thoughts? Wasn't this page much more detailed before?
I swear, this page used to be a lot more detailed then now. If I'm right, what happened to the old version? And a side note, the list even had Mario Kart in it, with a list of memes... AbeX300 22:41, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

- What point are you trying to make? If you want to create an article for a custom map, it will need to meet certain notability guidelines. Achievement maps won't meet those guidelines unless under exception circumstances. -- Pilk (talk) 23:33, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

- This page looks bads. We should at least have the Custom Maps page go to a page not just category section. I would do something if I knew how Octaytse 04:15, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Split
Split category between Category:Custom maps (for unreleased maps) and Category:Community maps (for released maps)? And delete Category:Custom maps unreleased? This would require some maintenance of certain templates. Or suggest something else. - With the move of User:Kobolite/Gibson, it should be clear that the move to user space does not remove the page from the main space category; there should be removed to some category that makes the distinction clear, see last line in table below. I recall writing something up on the 2010-2011 maps (all self-promotions except Convoy), but I am struggling to find it (I mean, I do not think it was this: User:Mikado282/Sandbox/Custom map study 2020, but some place where I discussed that they were self-promotions. - Personally, I think custom user space category isn't necessary. User pages are specifically not allowed to use mainspace categories, so they shouldn't be in the custom map category.

- Perhaps I needed to be more clear. You are right that Custom map pages should not be in User space categories, but Map infobox puts them in there, unless you already fixed it.

- As far as I can tell, the map infobox doesn't add it to any category whatsoever. For example, the Gibson page I moved yesterday has the map infobox, but is not in any category.

- Right, thanks for patiently clearing up my misunderstanding. I had seen that something was putting all Community and unpatched Custom maps into the same category. I don't understand how, but, referring to the changes to Gibson since June 10, simply moving a map page to user space removes it from the main space category. Maybe there is a switch in one of the templates. (My faulty recollection was that it didn't use to work that way. I thought I checked and still saw Gibson in Custom maps on 13 June 2022. )
- So, maybe a User space Custom map category is "not necessary", but I see some usefulness to having some means of tracking user space map pages. cf Category:Dutch
