Links in page sections

Er, links in page sections (i.e. ==[[Damage]]==) are bad practice. AWB also automatically removes them. Why were they put in, and why not put a hatnote instead? -- Pilk (talk) 09:18, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

In the list of related patches, there is a note saying "Demoman's secondary weapon has been renamed to Stickybomb Launcher." Does this mean it was actually called the Pipe Bomb Launcher before that patch? Doc 01:41, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Renamed Stickybomb Launcher Bug

uh, i don't see this anywhere on the page, but just to be certain; I've renamed the Stickybomb launcher, and not only does it also turn into a Scottish Resistance when i die with it equipped---but it IS a Scottish Resistance when i have it out, this should be in the bugs i think next to the other one about the dieing part i think, but before i ever change anything on the main article i like to check in here first. the reason i'm telling about this curtain bug is because when i have the Scottish Resistance out, teammates see it and the assume things that i actually have a Scottish Resistance equipped and that effects my game play, as well as the whole team; i.e. medics will assume I'm on defensive tactics or whatever the reason i can't seem to explain. So it's not only becomes a Scottish Resistance when i die but it actually LOOKS like one when I'm living, if its renamed. i just want it to be warned to others so they don't have a similar experience.--Awesome Weegee 08:13, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Projectile speed correction

The game code states that sticky launch speed starts at 900 units/sec and charging increases its speed linear to 2400 units/sec at maximum charge (same goes for scottisch resistance and sticky jumper). CursedGhost 14:36, 21 October 2011 (PDT)

First Person View

No one seems to notice, but in the world model and on the backpack icon, the little buckle on the ammo clip is on the right of the clip, with the clip slightly bulging to the right, while on the first person viewpoint, the buckle switches sides and the clip bulges the other way. The Scottish Resistance has the first person viewmodel matching the world model, so they seem to have made a mistake on the first person view's sketch of the stickybomb launcher. Yea... They've messed up with that, some modders've made a fix, but people still prefer the view model. ZooL (talk) 01:53, 12 October 2014 (PDT)

Projectile Speed

I ran some empirical tests and the launcher seems to fire at around 857 HU/s at around an angle always 13.6 degrees above the crosshair. It also fires at an angle slightly to the right of the crosshair if you're using right/default viewmodels contrary to what I had previously thought about it just coming out a bit to the right. ArguedOyster (talk) 14:39, 8 June 2017 (PDT)

I ran several more extensive empirical tests, and the projectile speed is 864.3, likely 864 HU/s due to some error in measuring. Can anyone tell me or does anyone even know where the original 805 figure came from? Because it was here from the first edit on this wiki that was imported from another wiki by Surrealistik? I have the math if anyone wants to see it, but I'm not gonna make the edit yet because literally no one in the world has probably ever cared about stickybomb speeds, so even if it is wrong, it's not an extremely important edit to make and I want to make 100% sure before I edit it. Also this might not belong in the same topic, but further analysis shows that the charge speed scales exponentially rather than linearly. ArguedOyster (talk) 12:52, 24 June 2017 (PDT)

Detonation Timer

The detonation time of the Stickybomb Launcher is something I feel is worthy of mention, even if just as Trivia or as a technical detail, even if it is in any practical or realistic sense, infinite. Inkybinky3 (talk) 05:10, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

It's not really noteworthy. It's too insignificant for trivia and in any other part of the page it won't really add anything useful.
