Zinkinite Valley promotional text

Zinkenite Valley (or Zinkenite) is a community-made Attack/Defend Control Point map focused on height variation. Featuring a three-stage layout similar to Dustbowl, Zinkenite Valley is a linear Control Point map making BLU have to capture A and then capture B, this is the same for every stage except the final one, where Blu has to capture A then B then C.

Zinkenite Valley takes place in an canyon-like mine owned by the RED team surrounded by forestry in the Northwestern wilderness. The map also prominently features the mineral Zinkenite, described in the promotional text as a piezoelectric crystal (piezoelectric meaning a material able to generate a charge), which can be found littered across the various caves players can enter as well as occasionally appearing on the surface or in storage facilites (having been dug up).

The final control point also features a doomsday machine resembling some sort of spytech laser apparatus. Inside the machine, players are able to see multiple Zinkenite crystals stored inside, implying that RED is using Zinkenite as a power-source to fuel their machinery.

Locations

BLU spawn, stage 1

All locations are described from the vantage point of the BLU team as they leave their spawn.

Stage 1, Point A

Control point A is located on the left inside a small cavern surrounded by a small wall of rock, a path is located inside the said wall of rock allowing BLU to transfer through and capture the point. A small Ammo pack and a small Health pack are also located in front of the point on a small rock.

Zinkenite, ravine, stage 1, point A
  • Attackers' spawn: BLU spawns inside a building which when exited leads to a large rocky clearing (which is still considered BLU's spawn). The clearing leads to four exit paths, the first path is on the right and is inside a small cave. The second exit is located in the middle, which when exited leads you to a straight line to the capture point. The third and fourth exits are on the far-left, which is inside another cave. The cave then splits into two pathways, one that exits you closer to the middle exit and one that exits you closer to the control point.
  • Ravine: The Ravine is where the various exits lead to, it is a small canyon that when followed takes you to the control point. There are a series of rocks that BLU will be met with when they enter the Ravine that can be utilized as cover for oncoming fire. There is also a medium Ammo pack and a small Health pack located behind some rocks on the right, as well as a large Ammo pack and a large Health pack located inside a small shack parallel to the control point.
  • Right cave: A small cave is located on the right side of the control point, inside there is a small Ammo pack and a medium Health pack as well as some rocks for cover.

Stage 1, Point B

Control point B is in-between two buildings. A rock is located in front of the control point for cover.

  • Canyon paths: Two cavern pathways lead to the control point B. The first control point leads down directly to the point, covered by a rock. The second pathways is on the right, taking the player downwards into a small ravine, there is then an opening to get to a flank area next to the point.
  • Control point B building: Contains a small Health and small Ammo pack inside.
  • Defenders spawn: The spawn for the defenders is to the left of Control Point B.

Stage 2, Point A

The first Control point is on a bridge suspended above a small drop next to a building. The building contains a large Ammo pack and large Health pack.

  • Three exits: When BLU exits their spawn they're met with three exits. The first exit is on the far-right inside a cave. The second and third exit both surround a storage facility, the difference being one exit is on the left and the other is on the right of the building.
  • Rocky clearing: Going through either one of the exits will lead BLU to a rocky clearing. There are some cliffs that BLU can climb to reach the control point.

Stage 2, Point B

The second Control point is hidden behind a building and a large tower, presumably an elevator. The building that hides the point contains a small Ammo pack and small Health pack.

Zinkenite, stage 2, point A
  • Caverns: The caverns are a series of two caves that are on the left and the right that lead to point B. There is a small Ammo pack and medium Health pack in each cave.
  • Defenders spawn building: RED's spawn building faces the control point, with two spawn doors and a stairwell that leads downwards to the point.

Stage 3, Point A

The first control point is located on the ledge of a building, connected to another building by a small bridge suspended above a pathway. Players can enter the building to make their way up to the point for a more ambush approach in capturing the point.

  • Large cave: The large cave connects the first area to the second area. There are two exits inside the cave that lead to point B, one exit is suspended above a death pit, but can be used for an ambush of point B. The second exit is a more direct and linear approach to point B.

Stage 3, Point B

Point B is on a veranda located in a clearing, it is accessible by climbing a small flight of stairs. A small Ammo pack is located behind the point.

Stage 3, Point C

The final Control point is located atop another veranda and underneath a large doomsday machine. BLU players must reach the point by getting past the underside of a large bridge, players are vulnerable to Snipers here due to the long sightlines provided to RED.

  • RED Spawn: RED's spawn have two spawn doors, both located on the left.
