The Sergeant's Drill Hat is a headwear item for the Soldier and was chosen by Valve to be released with the second wave of community-contributed content due to its outstanding quality. It appears as a brown campaign hat with the Team Fortress symbol on the front.
Trivia
- This type of hat, also known as a campaign hat, is still worn today by army drill sergeants, park rangers, and various law enforcement officers.
- The hat is a nod to Sergeant Hartman of the film Full Metal Jacket, as well as other stereotypical American drill sergeants, to whom Soldier's character owes a great deal.
- This is the only official class specific hat for the Soldier that isn't a helmet or resembles one.
- This hat resembles the one worn by the Drill Sergeants in the Boot Camp section of Half-Life: Opposing Force
- A BLU version of this hat was released by Gerre but the normal, green version was the version accepted by Valve.
- This item is one of two contributed items made by Gerre, the other being the Physician's procedure mask.
