This page will be used to co-ordinate efforts related to the Polycount Pack Update. Admins, mods, translators and anyone else who would like to help out should watch this page (click tab at top of page) to keep track of changes, etc.
The Polycount Update will be quite a hectic time for the wiki. Not only will we have more active users by the time it comes out, there's also a total of 17 new items that may be included. Your typical class update generally only has around 4 or 5. If that wasn't enough, the Update also includes a new game mode (possibly meaning multiple maps) and the trading system. So yeah. (And don't forget that everyone is going to be wanting to play the game with the new items rather than write about them, so we have even less people to help.)
Organisation & planning will be the key here. Feel free to add any new notes or reply underneath any of the existing notes. The talk page of this page is transcluded directly onto the end, so discussion is a little more involved with the content.

Things to do
Pre-update
* Talk to Robin, other people at Valve, about the possibility of some info in advance (?) damage stats, other trivial stuff
- Public IRC channel (or even just Steam group chat) - constant cross talk page communication, orange new messages banner spam and recent changes flood aren't going to mix well at all
- Could even have a separate channel for a bot to use to spam recent changes so less F5ing in browser is necessary ([1], [2], [3], hint hint WindBOT)
- New developments, see talk page
- Needs to be public as we want to encourage new users' contributions and not shut anyone out
- WindPower has set up IRC channel #tfwiki on irc.freenode.net (web chat link) If all goes well we should use this, if not, we should use the OTF Wiki Steam Group chat.
- Could even have a separate channel for a bot to use to spam recent changes so less F5ing in browser is necessary ([1], [2], [3], hint hint WindBOT)
- Make wiki more friendly to new users before update comes out
- Main Page redesign finished, etc
- Fix up Special:Upload messages & licensing drop down box
- Add new interface messages shown when creating new articles, etc
Update previews
- Possibly protect all item name titles from creation before release?
- If we do this, protecting 1 by 1 will be inefficient, instead, create Team Fortress Wiki:Polycount/Protected titles, transclude all titles and then cascade-protect.
- Start sandboxes for content as subpages of this page, so everyone can edit them
Update release
- A lot of stupid trivia notes
- Remember to rewrite over revert
Post-update
- Go through every new item page & remove the leftover useless trivia
Delegating & jobs
The editor in charge of a specific page or number of pages is responsible for every addition to the page. They are to watch the page closely and test any substantial edits that are made to it. Responsibilities may be delegated to fellow editors as they see fit. Additionally, edits may be added to the talk page of the article, so that page must be watched as well.

Notes
- Discussion needs to be more centralized during the update. We should have some talk pages redirect to Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion and place a notice on Talk:Main Page and Talk:Polycount Pack about it to try and keep everything more or less together.
