The Blighted Beak is a Medic hat released with the Australian Christmas update.

Trivia

• The "beak doctor" outfit was born during the Black Death, during the Mid 14th Century. Though the more accurate term is plague doctor, the name stuck however because of the iconic beak. The entire outfit consists of waxed leather ankle coat, leggings, boots, gloves, hat and the beak mask.

• The beak mask uses glass eye holes to see, and the beak is filled with an assortment of dried flowers, herbs and spices. There are two slits at the end of beak, and the herbs are designed to both mask the scent of death, as well as filter out airborne diseases.

• It is curious that the Pyro wasn't given this headgear, many plague doctors during the Black Death Period ordered the victims of black death to be burned. Not only because the bodies carried black death, but because of the sheer number of dead bodies, there was simply no room or time to give everyone a proper burial.

• The "Black death" was the most deadly pandemic in human history, taking palce in the Mid 14th Century killing an estimated 30%-60% of Europe's population (that's around 100 million people). Once the black death was over, Europe entered the Dark Ages, a period of deteriorated cultural and economic depression. It wasn't until 150 years later that Europe started to recover, that Europe entered the Renaissance Period.
