"We all have a girl and her name is Nostalgia." -- Ernest Hemingway
Nostalgia is what drew me here. The pre-war "rustic" barns and sheds of RED, the post-war "modern" concrete Cooperatives and factories of BLU; these are my grandpa's and uncles' farms and the Cold War concrete co-operatives and state extension buildings I loved to explore as a kid.
In the 60’s and 70’s, we had “inside games”, but we could only play them on rainy days; (make hay while the sun shines) and we lived in the Dustbowl, so this gamer learned to read the clouds.

(Previously) Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships
By Temple Grandin and Sean Barron
Rules that most but not all learn without being taught (not that those who know them always use them)
- Rules are Not Absolute. They are Situation-based and People-based.
- Not Everything is Equally Important in the Grand Scheme of Things.
- Everyone in the World Makes Mistakes. It Doesn’t Have to Ruin Your Day.
- Honesty is Different from Diplomacy.
- Being Polite is Appropriate in Any Situation.
- Not Everyone Who is Nice to Me is My Friend.
- People Act Differently in Public than They Do in Private.
- Know When You’re Turning People Off.
- “Fitting In” is Often Tied to Looking and Sounding Like You Fit In.
- People are Responsible for Their Own Behaviors.
Blaming others will never produce lasting positive results.
