Hello, Quardener!

Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Quardener to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Quardener/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

Welcome, friend!

Hello, Wikian! This most likely isn't a "welcome" situation since a lot of users ignore making their user page when they sign up, but I'm welcoming you anyway, as part of my personal objective to be a kind-er person, and to debunk the rumors that only robots run this wiki! (It's downright untrue!)

Welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki! I have traveled far and wide (from the Recent changes list) to "plant myself on that darn point, mister!" (this talk page), and to give you a less robotic welcome! (WelcomeBOT is not a real person!) As you've probably been able to guess, this wiki is run by people like you! It might seem overwhelming... all of MediaWiki's quirks aren't easily accessible to the average person, but there's plenty of resources dedicated to helping you learn that! Although, I won't get into that, since WelcomeBOT (not a human) already linked to them! (artificially)

You're better off starting the journey here, on your user page. User pages are basically just articles, but all about you! Plus, since it's your page, you're less likely to get reverted or given a good word handed to you by a mod if you mess something up here, since only you are authorized to edit your page without consequence! (Moderators/Administrators are able to, but they never do) There's no one way to make a user page; everyone has their own stylistic choice, and I extend that to you! Experiment! Don't be another sequel, or do be another sequel! It's up to you! Just don't outright copy another user's page, because that's bad, soldier!

While I'm probably in no position to help you out with editing actual articles, but I can help you grasp the basics of editing your user page if you're not already familiar. An infobox for yourself and a few userboxes, maybe even images? I'd be more than willing to help you out, if you want, of course.

After you learn the basics of editing on your user page or your sandbox, you can search the wiki for any pages that need editing (small, like grammar or misinformation, or large, like images or the entire page being outta whack) and put your powers to use, with responsibility, of course!

If you have any questions that don't have an answer elsewhere, you can ask either here or on my talk page.

Happy editing, Quardener!

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.

Any user is allowed to edit someone else's user page under certain conditions, mainly if breaking any policy (such as incorrectly-named user space images).

Obviously under that circumstance, yeah, but I meant more like vandalizing a user page or moving an aspect around without permission. Thanks for clarifying, though!
