The Soldier on the Scout's new hairstyle

The Hero's Tail is a promotional headwear item for the Scout. It replaces the Scout's default hat with Template:W's white and gray ponytail hairstyle with hanging sideburns. The ponytail swings while the Scout is in motion.

The Hero's Tail was awarded in Genuine quality to players who preordered The Witcher 2 before May 17, 2011.

May 12, 2011 Patch

  • [Undocumented] The Hero's Tail was added to the game.

May 13, 2011 Patch

  • Fixed this item crashing a server when equipped.

May 19, 2011 Patch

  • Updated the Hero's Tail so it can be crafted and traded.

Bugs

  • This item is currently marked as paintable, however the preview shows no change.
  • In some cases, this item clips slightly though the Scout's head.

Trivia

  • The item's description is a reference to The Witcher, in which Geralt's skin and hair lose pigmentation as a result of the consumption of mutagens, a prerequisite of his transformation into a full Witcher.
