The Jag is a community-made melee weapon for the Engineer. It appears as a modified monkey Wrench with a sharply-curved and pointed prong on the top and a padded grip. The Jag speeds up the construction of any building as it is being constructed or redeployed when the Engineer hits the building with the Jag.

Related Achievements

Built to Last Help a single building tank over 2000 damage without being destroyed. Circle the Wagons Repair 50,000 damage to friendly buildings constructed by other players. Doc, Stock, and Barrel Repair a sentry gun under fire while being healed by a Medic. Fistful of Sappers Destroy 25 sappers on buildings built by other team members. Get Along! Manage to get to, and then remove, a sapper placed on your building while you were several meters away.

Land Grab Help a teammate construct a building. Quick Draw Kill a Spy and two sappers within 10 seconds. Rio Grind Perform 50 repairs and/or reloads on a Sentry gun being Wrangled by another Engineer. Silent Pardner Upgrade 50 buildings built by other team members. The Wrench Connection Kill a disguised spy with your Wrench.

• The item was added to the Mann Co. Store, made craftable, and included in random drops.

Bugs

• The Jag currently does not speed up construction of buildings.

Trivia

• The Jag was first found fully textured in the Team Fortress 2 game files after the Mann-Conomy Update, and was displayed in the Steam Update image for the Mann-Conomy Update. According to Robin Walker in an email to community author Jman, the Jag was originally intended to be a part of the Engineer Update, and was eventually cut when Valve couldn't figure out attributes for it. The Jag was later added to the game as part of the Australian Christmas update.
