- The design of the item is a reference to the jacket worn by Jotaro Kujo, the primary protagonist of Stardust Crusaders, the third part of the manga and anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
- The name of the item is a reference to Star Platinum, who in turn was named after the "Star" Tarot Card from the same series.
- "Tsar" was the title of the Emperors of Russia.
