Your friends (enemies) will squeal with delight (be consumed with fire) when you cover them with sparkling rainbows (all consuming fire).
Rainblower' publicity blurb.

The Rainblower is a primary weapon for the Pyro. It appears as a series of three brass horns with long, spiraling piping and a container of sparkly team-colored fluid. It sprays out a stream of colorful bubbles and rainbows. This item may only be seen in-game by users who are in Pyroland, however it will show up as the Rainblower in the deathcam. A Pyro with the Rainblower equipped will be shown as having the Flamethrower to players not in Pyroland. The Rainblower makes wind chime sounds when held.

Taunting with the Rainblower equipped will perform the Armageddon kill taunt, igniting and potentially killing anyone in the area. Unlike other Pyroland-related items, players not in Pyroland will also see this taunt but with a slight difference; instead of forming a rainbow at the beginning of the taunt, the Pyro will appear to breathe a stream of fire from its mouth.

In combat this weapon functions identically to the Flame Thrower.

Update history

June 27, 2012 Patch (Pyromania Update)

  • The Rainblower was added to the game.
  • [Undocumented] Added Strange quality.

July 5, 2012 Patch

  • Fixed the Rainblower taunt attacking players through walls.
  • Optimized the Rainblower taunt particles

July 12, 2012 [Item schema update]

  • Fixed Strange Rainblower so Strange Part Posthumous Kills can be applied to it.

Bugs

  • This weapon does not glow when crit boosted.
  • Occasionally the looping flame sound reverts to the Flamethrower's looping sound.
  • If you fall while performing the Rainblower's taunt, the taunt animation will cancel, but the rainbow portion of the taunt will remain, and enemies within the normal area of the taunt will die.
  • If you are killed while performing the Rainblower's taunt on an edge, the taunt will not cancel.

Trivia

  • The Rainblower's concept of being seen only in Pyroland comes from Meet the Pyro, where Pyro sees his flamethrower as the Rainblower, and his fire as rainbows. The Rainblower's taunt has sound clips from the beginning (when the taunt ends as seen in Pyroland) and the end (when the taunt begins as seen in reality) of Dreams of Cruelty, the Meet the Pyro theme.
