The Third Degree is a melee weapon for the Pyro. It is a retro-futuristic Fire Axe with a white-hot coil for a sharpened edge.
The weapon has the ability to deal damage not only to the enemy being struck, but also any player healing or being healed by the target with Medic beams.

Trivia
- A Template:W is one which damages the entire dermis and requires excision to heal. The term "third degree" may also refer to a Template:W.
- Unlike other axes, the Third Degree plays an electric guitar sound during its taunt.
- Third Degree is a grade in murder in the Peruvian law where any form of voluntary or involuntary homicide, manslaughter, etc. and is punishable with between 7 and 25 years in prison.
