The Vintage Merryweather is a community-created headwear item for the Pyro and was chosen by Valve to be released with the second wave of community-contributed content due to its outstanding quality. It is modelled after a style of fireman's helmet commonly used by British fire brigades from the Victorian era.
The Vintage Merryweather is a paintable hat.
Trivia
- Merryweather helmets were used in the mid- to late-1800's in British fire brigades and were made of metal or plastic.
- The Merryweather was originally submitted as the Vintage Pyrolean and is labeled "pyrolean" in the game files, as a reference to the Vintage Tyrolean.
- The whole hat was originally going to be all gold, but it was changed due to the fact that it was too plain and bright.[1] (However, with the addition of paint cans, you can indeed have an all-golden Merryweather)
